El Salvador's One Year Anniversary

September 15th marked El Salvador's Independence Day just like in the United States we have 4th of July they have their own Independence Day. This month also marks the one-year anniversary of a more recent independence struggle and that is El Salvador's effort to decouple its economy from the US dollar by recognizing Bitcoin as legal tender. They say despite many real stumbles and skeptical mainstream coverage of President Bukele's Bitcoin initiative both tourism numbers and remittance usage are already showing meaningful payoffs.
