In the post-war years, I think we start to have a materialist consensus taking hold. So panpsychism was laughed at in so far as it was thought of at all. In academic philosophy there's been a renewed focus on certain work that was kind of forgotten about from the 1920s by Bertrand Russell. He proposed a radically new and interesting approach to consciousness which had precedent in lots of earlier work. And many people have taken that in a panpsychist direction and has developed this Bertrand Russell inspired form of panpsychism.
