The European Union took an important step on Wednesday towards passing what would be one of the first major laws to regulate artificial intelligence, a potential model for policymakers around the world. I still feel very comfortable with modern AI models flying aircraft personally. There's an emotionalism that drives all these topics and keeping in mind it is evolving so fast. So we have to be conscious of the risk profile changing as we're trying to identify where things are going.

Chris and Daniel take a step back to look at how generative AI fits into the wider landscape of ML/AI and data science. They talk through the differences in how one approaches “traditional” supervised learning and how practitioners are approaching generative AI based solutions (such as those using Midjourney or GPT family models). Finally, they talk through the risk and compliance implications of generative AI, which was in the news this week in the EU.
