The Different Colours of Period Blood
So what should menstrual blood look like? Because there's quite a range in a way. Sometimes it can be sort of almost pinkish when your periods are starting. For some people their period starts to actually brown, because there's a little bit of old blood that's there. It goes through every possible hue of red, then gets really quite dark and be quite crimson in colour. And then at the end, again, it can be quite brown, even sometimes looking quite black,. As blood ages, it oxidises, and it becomes this darker brownish black colour. So yeah, definitely would need about 1000 colours in that range.
