What Is a Memory Leak?

A memory leak is when a program doesn't quite keep track of everything it's doing and just uses more and more and more memory over time. The information isn't actually leaking, but some of the data is getting corrupted over time. It's basically like Chrome which does not do garbage collection or cleaning up after itself.
