Carbon Offsets - The Thorny Issue of Carbon Offsettings
Carbon offsets are a mechanism that institutions and individuals can use to counterbalance the carbon omissions they create. It costs money to buy offsets, and their pricing is often less expense than other kinds of mitigation work. We may need a well functioning system for offsets if we are to transition off of fossil fuels in time to hold climate change below catastrophic levels.
