I had always thrown myself into whatever part of my life felt the most stabilizing, when actually what we need to do is throw ourselves into the part of our lives that feel the most unsettling. I literally had my miscarriage on like a thursday and was back in the office on monday, still in tons of physical pain, still crying in the bathroom. And i didn't give myself the space to grieve. That grief was destroying me. Compartmentalization is just stuffing pandora's box, and some day it's going to get so stuffed it's gonna burst open.
