The Chinese Social Credit Score
The Chinese government is trying to introduce some sort of scoring system. It's not a national thing yet, although given how big Chinese cities are and how many of them there are it's still affecting tens of millions of people. If you could theoretically use it in a kind of opt-in way, maybe for good, it's kind of a too powerful tool, I think, for anyone to use. And when you have those kinds of incentives, can you really say that it's opt in? You don't really have that much choice.
