I've worked with a ton of people who are in cells or red pillars. The number one thing that is common amongst all of them is trauma usually associated with a woman. And so then what they have to do is it's a survival mechanism. Their brain adapts to fear and even hate that thing. You can still advocate very strongly, but you're not advocating from a place of emotional lack of control or lack of awareness. I think those battles can be worthwhile fighting.
