What Is High Intensity Interval Training?

interval training, to me at least, is just alternating periods of more intense effort with recovery. You can do moderate interval training, which might be an example of intermittent walking. And then there's a more intense version called sprint interval training that would be in that near-maximal to maximal type effort range.
