The rule of thumb here is size of the ET tube times three and that's been proven in the literature after you know hundreds thousands of measurements. You really want to listen bilaterally and adjust your tube accordingly if you're just doing a direct laryngoscopy so absolutely but the rule of thumb is age I'm sorry size of theET tube times three great. If I've got a four O tube it's going to supposedly my guideline is I'm going to tape it in about 12 but certainly I'mgoing to listen and make sure that I've got bilateral breast out yes all right.
