NATO Drops Membership Action Plan for Ukraine
NATO is set to drop the requirement for Ukraine to go through a membership action plan. The map would ensure that aspiring NATO members meet certain political, economic and military standards. Finland and Sweden were invited to join the Alliance last year without having to go through this process. Ukrainian Foreign Minister Dimitro Kuleba welcomed the decision but asked for more as Kiev seeks a formal invitation from Nato.
