The Benefits of Genetically Modified Food
A lot of drugs that are already on the market are made with recombinant bacteria. Modifying food in this way has saved more lives and increased quality of life for more people than any other technology, he says. The downside is that genetically modified food encourages the use of the most optimal food type. That means we need to go out of our way to preserve local varieties as well as genetic diversity.
