Separation Anxiety and Transitions

Some schools have a policy that kids can bring one item from home as their special toy to ease the transition. Some schools allow an item if it's a stuffed toy or blanket and still only allow these items at nap time. If he just has one and carries it around but can also make a choice to put in his cubby at times when he doesn't want it, this will really empower him to feel more comfortable about this entire process.
