You did your PhD on injuries in youth footballers and how maturation affects it. We see that injury types depend on age, so typically injuries to the skeleton and growth related injuries, they peak at under 13 or 14. In an immature athlete is probably the bone attachment or the growth plate whereas in a mature athlete it might be the muscle or the tendon. Your environment does play a role and there have been studies looking at that in South Africa,. There are differences between ethnicity and ethnicities which I would assume were because of their socioeconomic status but here it'll be massively confounded in this country.
