Would a Just Society Have Police at All?

Jake Wallis: I like the way you set this up in your book as well. Would a just society have police at all? And is just policing possible? Wallis: Partly it depends on what we mean by just society, right? He says there's one view that a totally ideal, fully-just society would be one where we all just hang out and there are no conflicts. Wallis: But maybe the ideal theorists think that there's something really valuable about thinking about what society would look like given these various kinds of idealizations.
