The History of Happiness

It's clear that in the 21st century people have strongly pursued their own happiness. But has it always been thus? It was very different in the ancient time, in the ancient regime especially in Europe. Happiness was not the main concern of the Christians. They had to escape from the original scene which is a basis for the Christian religion.
