Dread Resistance in Tuberculosis
Tuberculosis resistance is a huge problem for the treatment of tuberculosis. Almost 500 thousandt of the ten million cases of tuberculosis each year are resistant to one or, often times, several drugs available. The usual approach that is still widely used around the world is you take a sputum sample and culture it in petra dish. But now we have good news from a big international research project which has found a new way of detect any and every resistance inducing mutation in tuberculosis infection.
