Are You Really Doing the Loving Thing?

Emerson: I think a lot of times in our society, in the church in America, we are functional deists and atheists. We say we believe yet are we sold out to the core? Am I willing to die for my wife in spite of her moments of disrespect? That's really, really powerful. But I would take issue just a little bit with Jesus default on love. He got angry? Oh, yeah. He threw over tables. He also was silent. He wouldn't talk to you. And he ripped the temple and new one. So this is not a soft Jesus we're talking about. This is the alpha and omega man. You know what I'm saying?
