Not because dentists are known arbitrators of beauty, but because white coat and all, we know that they know more than us. It's not just dentists who fall into the tension between medical and cosmetic services. Patients get caught up in it too. Everybody goes for plastic fillings again, because of this notion of I want my teeth white.
