Evolutionary psychology has been criticized for positing something that nobody has remotely provided any sort of biological account of how this could possibly be true. So the mean thing is whether you're hungry or not, and socio economic status is a proxy for determining hunger. Both socio economic status and hunger are ways to measure people who are resource lacking in resources.

The less we know, the more we know it.
