It's hard to know whether alex jones truly believes what he's doing, says John Defterios. He has built up an industry that runs on conspiracy theoris and makes money out of it,. After he was pushed off the main social media platforms, it becomes more difficult to monotize what he was doing. But you know, there's still donations. There's still a lot of people that would quote him, rely on him. And i can imagine, although i don't know, ending on the outcome of this trial, that in some ways, this might bolster his community who will say, this is part of the conspiracy.
