The Legend of Lystra

The legend of Lystra was that Zeus and Hermes showed up one day in Lystra, taking on mortal bodies. They went to 1,000 homes; no one gave them lodging or offered them food. But they came to the home of an elderly couple who did give them lodging. And as a result of their mistreatment by the 1,000 other homes, Zeus and Hermes destroyed all the people of Lystra with a flood.
