Being an ignorant physicist, I thought this unlikely. So decided to present that year's data and compare it with values my boss had computed from a decade earlier. Concord would be able to keep flying and the public could keep using their spray cans. He was wrong. The ozone was depleting in the study area that he used. And he went on to say, I thought it was something that was perhaps peculiar in Antarctica and only of scientific interest. These are amazing quotes, by the way. I find these so interesting. It's just very interesting to have been the person to have noticed this and then like, right? Oh boy. Ooh. But I guess it had to start somewhere
