Akutami comes from the classical Japanese book Nihon Shoki, also known as the chronicles of Japan. He's a horror fan and this curse is popular with Japanese horror fans. The manga and anime that was their biggest inspiration includes Tite Kubo, writer and illustrator of the manga bleach.
