Is There Anything to Lose?
I think it's always desirable to end up with a general election, of course. But I do think that in the end, the question is for Conservative MPs. And there's quite a strong body of feeling that the process by which you go to the country takes too long. The decision ends up being made by people who know the individual standing much less well and that sort of thing. So the reality is that actually you get to the point where some colleagues will just consider there is nothing to lose. Though as I say, my first preference would be for Liz to sort this out and I'm cheering on to do it.
