Rose and Gabor's guests were mostly men in transition, like widowers, or recent immigrants from Hungary working low wage jobs. Reports say she cared for at times up to 16 men. For several years with Gabor and the boarding house, things seemed to be looking up for Rose. She was left to raise their three sons, all under the age of 14 on her own.
