The Hoopa - A Symbol of God's Love
A jewish groom would stand under a hopa. The hoopa was just really a sheet connected to four poles. It served as a covering, or a canopy. And it has its roots out of the story of exodus. A marriage begins with a man and god. When a man knows god, when he knows who he is in god, then he welcomes his bride down that aisle to stand with him under the hopa. They speak their vows to each other. Then what happens is they consummate the marriage, that they make love under the hoopa. We call it here t the stirring hoopa, under the hoOPA, and they make love.
