The Future of Pathogen Reduction

The FDA has put out a couple of draft guidances about potentially involving pathogen and activation techniques in prevention of bacterial contamination of platelets. So I think once the FDA does their final version of that, whoever knows when that will be, we're probably going to be talking about this quite a bit more. The bottom line, for those of us in the US, it is coming. Well, realistically, it's already here. It just doesn't have quite the momentum that it has in the rest of the world,. But it is coming with several things that are pushing that as we go forward.
