The Importance of Resilience
There was a period when everyone thought that Bank of England rates would peak at 4%. That ship was long, long-sailed. There's not 4%, not 4, not 5, not 5,. not 5, and half - it might be 6! It's higher than actually even. I would have thought the economy would have collapsed a long team before that. And that kind of resilience has also been somewhat surprising. You know, it takes a year to 18 months for interest rate rises to feed through. So that the economy has not collapsed should not be a surprise.
