Mercedes data also shows that the overall EV market increased by 74% in January of 2023 up to 87,708 registrations. Nearly 39,000 non-Tesla EVs entered the market during the same month. Of those 50,000 Teslas registered in January, nearly 29,000 were model-wise which marks a 56% increase year over year. Model three registrations were up 29% to 17,526 units sold during the same time period.
