"Religion has formed around this in his mind. And so with religion, you get laws and rituals like a scapegoat ritual or something like that," she says. "But the Hebrew Bible and then the New Testament tends to tell stories, their mythology through the eyes of a victim." She asks if we see atonement as revelation for those who find it compelling.
