The New Morality of Self-Interest
Imitation of altruism has been an unbelievably failed strategy at preventing us from exploiting one another. The immorality of self-interest would have to show that doing these things in the short run is self-destructive. So A, I don't think we have much to lose by dumping altruism. It doesn't seem to, we don't seem to respond particularly well to it. But you do have to make an argument for a morality which is geared towards individual happiness.
