He's Like a Literal Social Justice Warrior
Jim Jones was a literal social justice warrior. He opened on these nursing homes that were either free or super reduced cost for people they were providing. They had a free restaurant where they would serve good meals to poor people, or anybody who showed up. When he started noticing that he had a ton of elderly black women, mostly in his congregation, and he would see that they weren't getting health cares on I think it made him want to be in that space. And so i guess that's one big thing, is that people were drawn to this church not because he cast some magic spell on them with his googly eyes, but because there was a real need.
