The Importance of a Degree in Winemaking
First job out of university was on a North Canada Revenient just doing minimum wage vineyard work. A selling point of any tertiary qualification is that you will earn more money because of it but when she started work having a degree didn't mean you earned one cent more than someone who had not studied. She thinks that this is slowly changing in that industry and COVID has seen vineyards become more flexible with ours worked and also with pay rates. It used to be here's the job like it or lump it. But today vineyards are trying to make working for them more appealing by considering how recent grads may have more knowledge and skills then those coming into the industry for the first time
