US border officials have shut down a migrant processing facility in Laredo, Texas. After migrants who had appointments for their asylum applications were being targeted for extortion. Criminal gangs were demanding $500 per migrant as they were walking to the border checkpoints. So it's unclear this morning as to whether or when US consular officials or customs and border protection officers will reopen this crossing inLaredo.
