The Importance of Challenge

I'm convinced he's trying to beat every record as soon as possible. So he can retire as early as possible and just see him get fat and be on his yacht. I do wonder if he would have gone for that fastest lap if it was anyone other than Checo that had it. It seems like he's just doing it to sort of mess with everyone else. But it's probably what keeps him going over the course of a weekend. If it wasn't a rule, he wouldn't even need to pit. He'd be still winning the constructor by himself.
