In the grammar, the grammatical sense, this is where all forms have to follow the same pattern. So there's that sense of balance here in that word parallel. This works for many different things such as verb tenses and noun phrases. And we can also use it for ideas and concepts as well. We could say our ideas are parallel to each other or something like that. Just like those roads, they are kind of aligned, connected. They don't clash with each other.
