The Last Words of Blanche

The servants all say that louise forced them to keep blanche imprisoned in the attic. Marsel is the only one to go on trial, and he's found guilty of helping his mother keep her captive. Eventually, blanche is able to gain weight and speak in short sentences. But spending half of her life locked up in a room has done a lot of damage to her psyche. She never makes a full recovery; she lives out her final days in a sanatorium before she dies 12 years later.
