Luther was just awful by the end of his life. He is not growing in virtue in any discernible sense as he becomes more Protestant. Even other Lutherans like Malankton seem to be pushing away from him and distancing themselves from him. There's a hubris there. A lack of understanding of the strange workings of grace. I think that's one of the issues that has gone on historically in terms of Christian relations towards the Jews.
