Is He, She, I Didn't Catch the Gender?

At three months, 12 weeks, it's not the baby's not ready to do, cry it out or sleep training that's formal like that. Usually they recommend holding off until about four months. When any of your babies are overtired, their body produces something called cortisol which is a natural stimulant and keeps us awake when we're past tired. So try to get in there before then so you can actually soothe him calm him down by doing the least amount of work possible.
