The process of creating nuclear energy creates radioactive material, an extremely dangerous chemical elements like plutonium. It can take tens of thousands of years to lose its harmfulness. When you consider how much of this waste is already out there, imagine how big of an issue it would become if we doubled the amount of nuclear that we have.
