Why You Shouldn't Read if You Want to Grow Vocabulary

If I could go back in time, I would have thoroughly avoided reading for the first couple of years. When you read, you can grow your vocabulary really quickly. And it's also easier to get good at reading than to getting good at listening initially. If you want a fully native accent, then I think you want to learn how a children does right entirely through audio.
