How Does a French Word Change Its Pronunciation?

A word often shifts its pronunciation a bit to fit into the way that the language it arrives in is spoken. There are some words where there's variation between speakers. So i say cressont with the final t, but i don't think you have that when you say that word. I remember when i learnt that the vietmes vale that's used for fu is ily different and definitely not what you would read if you were reading that directly as an english word. And i've got to learn something about vietnomis that i didn't know at that time. But i expect neither of us are still pronouncing that word exactly how it's said in vietn
