Recruiting Scandinavians for the SS
Western Europe provided an awful lot of recruits for the SS. They were Dutch, Danes, French, Spaniards, Latvians as a whole host of foreign nationalities that ended up on the streets of Berlin in 1945. So much Prawnaty is very anti communist. But again to be fair they went through those SS training categories so they went through the same indoctrination and fought better than you expect. Certain key divisions within the SS actually helped prolong the war because they acted at certain key moments during military campaigns to save off defeat for Hitler.
