What Are Deserts and Cacti?
The association of deserts with cacti is a bit misleading. Deserts in africa and especially the middle east and central asia and australia, don't have cactuses in them. There are other succulent plants that live in these environments, but they're not cactuses. And so what we want to do is think about how the wind, over long periods of time, affects the local morphology of these different features.
