Greenlight and Gaslight - What's Going on With Them?
Greenlight doesn't come from the verb to light, meaning to illuminate with green light. It too is formed from a noun phrase, the green light. So using the same logic, if it's a verbed noun, it is regular. And so by that logic, the pastense is, i green light at the project. And the past participle, i have green lighted the project, or the project has been green lighted. But according to some poles and searches i've done, they're basically about half and half.
