How Can I Study the Bible Without Commentaries?

I can imagine someone thinking about looking back at something they wrote, say, ten or enty years ago. And i just have you ever felt those feelings? Or is it more of aa encouraging thing that you get? I recently said to my family member, if something happens to me and you have to deal with my stuff, there's this pile of journals over there, please just burn them. Ha, because some of it's really privates. O join me and the lord.
