More expensive does not always mean better. Sometimes if a brand is too low budget, then a lot of the time they haven't done a lot of optimization and clinical testing. One of the brands that's a really good alternative to the high price products that will work really well or can work really well is the ordinary. If you're going for more expensive products, I would be looking for clinical evidence of their specific formulations working on like working basically. So in general, what I would look for before buying an expensive product would be whether it contains an ingredient that should work and whether or not they have clinical evidence that their specific formula works.
