How Did the Global Financial Crisis Affect Risk Management?

I'm cur if there have been any marked events or experiences that have played a large role in shaping your own views on risk management. I know for myself, often i've appreciated the lementors more in hindsight than i was aware enough too at the time. And so to me, personally, i really feel that a lot of regulatory and industry initiatives are all within the genuine spirit f protecting us as the financial market.
